WELCOME TO THE READING LODGE OF ROCK HILL HIGH:
The Reading Lodge meeting for May turned out nicely, books were discussed about what everyone will be reading this summer, plus a summary of the past year. Also, Ms. Deeds was surprised with a cake by her fellow book club members! Many Thanks!!!!
Gregory will be having a new book out in the Fall 2008, the Other Queen, concerning Mary Queen of the Scots, Elizabeth I's cousin and rival for the throne of England.
And Stepanie Meyer has a new book out: Breaking Dawn, don't know yet if it is the last in the series yet or not! Although she claim it is. I have started on the first chapter.
Plus R.W. Rowling's has a new book, co-author is "Hermoine Granger". Hermonine has collected and edited "The Tales of Beedle the Bard", been trying to pre-reserve it at Borders., it is due out Dec.4,2008.
TOPIC FOR SEPT's meeting: What everyone read over the summer. Date: Sept. 25th, hopefully everyone will be able to attend.
Ms. Deeds has given up on finishing Eckert's "That Dark and Bloody River" . This book is set in the Tri-State area of Wheeling, West Virginia and over into Ohio and down the river into Kentucky, with the Ohio River is a natural border between the frontier settlers and the Indians. Time setting: before the Revolutionary War. And is over 810 pages long!
Instead of taking it to the beach, she took "New Dawn" and "Bones to Ashes".
Right now she is reading the last in the "Twilight Saga", Breaking Dawn. Finished up on Eclipse while her
